"Strike de bonheur!"= Strike happiness!
The same professors were absent today so I had only three hours of math class. After school, which was only 15h00 (3:00 pm), Olof and I watched Napoleon Dynamite. Although I'm not a huge fan of the movie, I couldn't believe that she had never even heard of it! That was probably pretty American of me though- to think that everyone around the world has seen Napoleon Dynamite. In addition to watching the movie, Olof taught me a lot of Iceland. Right now is carnival season in Iceland. The festivities are parallel to those of week of Mardi Gras but they're cooler traditions like eating tons of meat and an Icelandic speciality, rjómabollur, a chocolate dipped cream puff dessert.
Then later on during the week, kids dress up in costumes and go shop to shop singing songs in order to get candy (like Halloween!). After hearing so much about Iceland, I hope I have the opportunity to visit it someday.
I don't have much else to report about today. My older sister, Marine should be coming home later tonight. She'll being staying home for an entire month to do an internship at local engineering firm. Can't wait to see her soon!
Hopefully, I'll have some more interesting things to report in the future. :)
Bisous,
Becca
